Mathai and Smt. Treessia; born at Thiruvampady on 12th May, 1959; B.A., LL.B., Advocate; Social and Political Worker.
Entered Politics through students movement; was an active worker in SFI and DYFI; was Secretary, SFI Devagiri College Unit, Mukkam and Kozhikode Area Committee, Kozhikode District Committee and the State Committee; Was President, DYFI Kozhikode District Committee, Joint Secretary and the Secretary, DYFI State Committee; Member, DYFI Central Committee; involved in various agitations led by S.F.I. and D.Y.F.I.; led many agitations including parallel College Students Fare Concession Struggle, Karmal School Strike, Agitation against privatisation of Polytechnic etc., brutally assaulted by Police at Koothuparamba incident; also lathicharged at puthiyappa while participating in the Road Block agitation against UDF Minister in 1986; imprisoned in 1986; Actively participated "Ambayathode Surplus Land Agitation', was University Union Councillor in Devagiri College and Law College Kozhikode; was students representative in Calicut University Senate; served as the Private Secretary to the Minister for Co-operation and Fisheries (1987-91).
Now Vice-Chairman, Kerala Co-operative Employees Welfare Board; Member, Calicut University Syndicate; Member, C.P.I.(M) Kozhikode District Secretariat and the State Committee.
