Vareed; born at Pudukad on 25th December 1947; M.A. (Economics); Teacher; Social and Political Worker.
Started Political activities through K.S.U. and then Youth Congress; Served as the Secretary and the President of Kodakara Block Youth Congress for 10 years from 1965; Was BDC Chairman Kodakara (1972); Elected to Pudukad Grama Panchayat for two terms; served as Kodakara Block Congress President for 20 years from 1972; Elected to Thrissur District Council in 1991; was Thrissur District Panchayat Member and District Planning Member; was Director Board Member, Irrinjalakuda Agricultural and Rural Development Bank for 3 terms.
Now serves as DCC Secretary, Thrissur (from 1992); President/Secretary of Various Trade Unions including Kodakara Block Tiles Workers Union; Alagapa Textiles Workers Congress; Palappilly Plantation Labour Union etc.; also serves as President/Secretary of various Cultural and Social Organisations including Nalanda arts society, Thushara Film Society, Grameena Vayanasala etc., Member, Arch-Diocease Pastoral Council.
