Entered politics through K.S.C., Students' Wing of Kerala Congress; was Kozhikode District President, Kerala Youth Front; was General Secretary of Kerala Congress from 1979 to 1991; was Government Chief Whip during 1982-87; was Member of P.A.C., P.U.C. and Subordinate Legislation Committees; now Deputy Leader, Kerala Congress Legislature Party; Syndicate Member, Cochin University.
Elected to K.L.A. in 1977, 1982, 1987, 1991 and 1996.
