born at Ezhikkara on 24th October,
1954; SSLC, ITI, Social, Political and Trade
Union Worker.
Started Political life through
Student's Federation (1972); involved in various
agitations led by S.F.I and D.Y.F.I.; Served as
District Secretary, D.Y.F.I. (1984); Member,
District Committee, C.P.I.(M) (1985); State
President, D.Y.F.I. (1986); Central Committee
Member, D.Y.F.I. (1988-95); State Secretary and
All India Vice President, D.Y.F.I.; Member,
State Committee C.P.I. (M), Chairman, Committee
on Public Undertakings (1996-98) of Kerala
Legislative Assembly; Served as Minister for
Electricity and Co-operation from (25-10-1998 to
31-5-2001) and Minister for Fisheries and
Registration (18-5-2006 to 13-5-2011).
Now Member State Committee, CPI (M).
Previously elected to KLA in 1987, 1991 and 1996
and 2006.
