at purapuzha on 10th June 1941; M.A;
Agriculturist.
Held the portfolio of Home Affairs
(16-1-1978 to 15-9-1978); was Minister for
Revenue, Education and Excise (28-12-1981 to
17-3-1982), Minister for Revenue and Housing
(24-5-1982 to 25-3-1987), Minister for
Education, Public Works, Housing and
Registration (20-5-1996 to 13-5-2001) and
Minister for public works (May 2006- September
2006) and (17-8-2009- 30-5-2010).
Also served as the Member of the
Syndicate of Kerala University (1975); Chairman
of Gandhiji study Centre; One of the prominent
Bio and Organic Farmers in Kerala; Pioneered Bio
Farming in Kerala, Diary Farming, Conducts 'Karshikamela'
(Agricultural Fair) in Thodupuzha annually the
first of which was in 1989. Implemented
sustainable Development Projects all over Kerala.
Now working Chairman Kerala Congress
(M); Member, Indian Science Congress.
Previously elected to KLA in 1982, 1987,
1996, 2001 and
2006.
