Son of  Shri. M.P. Abdul Hameed Haidari and Smt. Ottakath Zainab; born at Kottakkal on 1^st January 1959; M.A, M.Phil, L.L.B; Teacher, Educationist.

          Undertook social and cultural activities from student days; Worked as Lecturer in History, Farook College; Principal, M.T.I Arts College; Was Chairman, Students Union, Farook College, Calicut; Member, Students Grievances Adjudication Board, Calicut University, Malappuram Panchayat, Indian Parliamentary Delegation to Saudi Arabia, Indian Official delegation to the Middle East 2002, Kerala Wakf Board, Kerala Haj Committee, Kerala Sahitya Academy and Kerala Kala Mandalam; Was student Member, Calicut University Senate.

Was Member, Rajyasabha (1994 and 2000), Committee on Defence, Committee on Subordinate Legislation, Committee on Human Resource Development, Consultative Committee for the Ministry of External Affairs, Committee on Papers Laid on the Table, Joint Parliamentary Committee on the Functioning of Wakf Board, Court of the Aligarh Muslim University, Committee on Health and Family Welfare, Central Advisory Board of Education.

Won oratorial awards and prizes including University Arts Festival Prizes, Gandhi Peace Foundation Awards, Abussabah Trophy, Kutty Krishna Marar Trophy, V.K. Krishna Menon Trophy, Father Theodorius Trophy and the Shah Award for service in the public field, promotion of humanitarianism  and national integration.
