            Entered politics while a student; Served as Unit President and Unit Secretary of K.S.U during School-College days.  Was President and Secretary, Youth Congress Mandalam Committee, Parassala; Secretary, Block Congress Committee (8 Years), Parassala; Member, District Panchayat, Parassala Division (10 Years); Opposition Leader, Grama Panchayat, Parassala (5 Years); Member, District Planning Committee (5Years); General Secretary, District Congress Committee (since 2006); Director, Parassala Service Co-operative Bank; President, Parassala Ksheera Vyavasaya Sahakarana Sangham, Priyadarshini Cultural Organisation, Parassala Paura Samithi; Life Member, Scouts and Guides; Governing Body Member, Lions Club.

Suffered physical torture and sustained injuries in many strikes; imprisoned for 15 days at Central Jail, Thiruvananthapuram in connection with KSU strike at Homoeo College, Thiruvananthapuram and for 3 days in Sub Jail, Thiruvananthapura in connection with Youth Congress Kerala Yathra.
