Son of  Shri Gopalakrishna Kurup and Smt. Kamalakshi; born at Chelakkad  on 15^th May 1964; B.A (Course Completed).; Social and Political Worker. 

            Entered politics during school days through S.F.I.; was Secretary, S.F.I, Zamoorin's Guruvayoorappan College Unit (1984-86); Chairman, Calicut University Union and Member, Calicut University Senate (1986-87); Secretary, S.F.I. Kozhikode District Committee (1988-90); State President (1990-92), State Secretary and All India Vice-President, S.F.I. (1992-94); Member, Kozhikode District Council (formed in 1991); President, Calicut Co-operative Urban Bank (1998-2003); President and  Secretary, D.Y.F.I, Kozhikode District and State Joint Secretary  (2000-2003); State Secretary and All India Joint Secretary, D.Y.F.I. (2003-2007);  Member, District Sports Council, Kozhikode (1998 onwards) and Kerala State Sports Council
(2006-2009). 

            Now Member, C.P.I.(M) Kozhikode District Committee (1997 onwards). 

            Previously elected to KLA in 2006.
