Son of Shri J. Nallathampy Nadar and Smt. Lekshmi, born at Chenkal in Thiruvananthapuram District on 25..1..1107 M.E; B.A, B.L; Political Worker.

Started political life while studying in High School; joined Government service as Gram Sevak during 1954 and resigned the job in 1960; was an active member in the Communist Party till 1964; joined the Indian National Congress and worked as Block Committee President; was its Block Development Committee Chairman for more than ten years from 1970; was Vice-President, District Congress Committee; was KPCC member and KPCC Executive member during 1987-90.

Was Minister for Transport, Rural Development and Agriculture (1983-87); was Chairman, KELPAM, Kerala (1993-96).

Elected to K.L.A. in 1980, 1982 and 1996.
